This little Rock house is now a State Historic Site in Miami, Roberts County, Texas Rehearsing for a two week gig in Amarillo playing on radio from Cal Farley's Flying Dutchman Service Station. We started out using the name The Midget Ramblers until we were told that people thought we were midgets.
After each noon broadcast for Cal Farley, we played for the opening of The Texas Rangers with Fred MacMurray and Jack Oakie and then went to the Tri State Fair Grounds to do a show. This was a two week gig. Bobby was in first grade and I was in third grade. We got to miss two weeks of school.

Shirley was sent home by Pampa Hospital December, 1934 to spend Christmas and die with family. Dr. Montgomery used new medicines from Mayo Clinic and saved Shirley with no charge for his help.
After the Amarillo radio gig, we made enough money to buy new Hats, Boots and levis.
